Hey there CCP,
You still have knives in the game, and patched em, so I figure at least one person over there likes em. Hopefully, this means at least one person there will read this
After watching some video of 1.6 knife performance, I actually think the knifehit mechanic seems somewhat fair. One trouble is that knife fighters dont get a good way to fight a moving target. I think that people gutsy enough to bring a knife to a gun-fight, deserve a little perk. Not a huge perk, but enough of one that I think you would make the knifers complaining, a lot happier.
Right now, there is no use of the ADS button, when knife is equipped. I would like to request that L1 would engage a mini-map-radar zoom. So instead of 1-100m, using it zooms in to be lets say, 1-25m ?
Important note: this needs to be unlike other L1 use, and have no reduction of movement speed.
This new mode will give proper visibility of your opponent's position, for better stabby-stabby. You still need good skill to effectively use this though, so this isnt some crazy OP mod.
This would also mesh really will with the new gallente scout passive scan range. That's just made for stalking people. With that, Gallente scouts will be more likely to equip knives as sidearm, just for the radar zoom feature, even if they never use them to attack!
So... whaddya say?
PS: the other knife problems remaining are; 1. no sprinting+charging. Would be nice to allow this.
but, most importantly:
2. slashing, currently does "stop sprint, then slash". It really needs to be "slash, THEN stop sprinting". If you just changed the order there, then I think you'd make a lot of unhappy knifers, happy. And it would be such a tiny code change! No new feature adds required, and no new "lunge" animations would need to be rendered either!!!

how so? The entire purpose of it, would be to give you a more exact location of the enemy :-} if it confused you, it would just be implemented wrong

you're missing the whole point of the request then. It's for when you are within 2 meters of the enemy, and they are not directly in front of you. The current radar is then almost useless. At best, you get a vague idea of which side of you they are on. but you cant see which way they are facing clearly
